Our projects are developed by our membership, often in collaboration with our partner organizations around the world.  If you would like to get involved in our projects on an individual basis, you can learn more about membership in The Global Pro Bono Bar at our Membership Details page.  Opportunities for institutions to provide membership for their members or employees are described on our Institutional Discounts page as well.

ONGOING PROJECTS

Project No. 2025-01:  The Global Public Interest Lawyering (GPIL) Program

    • Objective:  The Global Public Interest Lawyering (GPIL) Program provides both in-person and remote experiential learning opportunities designed to advance practical understanding of public interest lawyering in public international law.  To learn more about the GPIL Program, including how to apply, refer to the 2025 Program Overview via the link below.

    • Target Completion Date:   Ongoing 


    PAST PROJECTS

    Project No. 2019-01:  Effectiveness of Key Justice Systems (Southeast Asia)

      • Objective:  To develop a written literature review of existing studies of the effectiveness of regional or national justice systems and their responses to Trafficking in Persons crimes in Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Laos and China.
      • Completion Date:  10 August 2019

      Project No. 2019-02:  ASEAN Protocols Against Slavery (Southeast Asia)

        • Objective:  To develop a written review of regional cross-border anti-trafficking protocols, agreements, and related treaties across the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (“ASEAN”), mapping and analyzing all bilateral and multilateral interconnections in ASEAN as well as other resources for governments to utilize.  
        • Completion Date:  10 August 2019

        Project No. 2019-03:  Cross-Border Collaboration (Southeast Asia)

          • Objective:  To research case studies of effective cross-border anti-slavery collaboration between law enforcement officials, primarily from an ASEAN perspective, but also incorporating relevant global case studies for the regional cross-border context in Southeast Asia.
          • Completion Date:  10 August 2019
