The Global Pro Bono Bar Association is pleased to announce our upcoming presentation at Securing Justice for the Planet: Opportunities for, and Barriers to, Course Correction, an international conference co-organized by Macquarie University’s Environmental Law Research Centre (Centre) and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Regional Office for the Pacific (UN OHCHR Pacific).
We are grateful to the Centre and UN OHCHR Pacific for organizing this critical forum and for selecting our article, Balancing the Scales: Advancing Climate Change Governance Imperatives in Developing States Through Regime Interaction & Judicial Interpretation of the Public Policy Exception to Investor-State Arbitral Award Enforcement Under the New York Convention, for presentation at the conference. The Global Pro Bono Bar Association’s participation in this upcoming event reflects our ongoing commitment to innovative, cross-border legal research that advances global environmental justice, accountability, and equitable governance.
This publication is a collaborative project of The Global Pro Bono Bar Association with authors including Rob Houston (Singapore), Grace Klutke (United States), Mevelyn Ong (Hong Kong), and Nikhil Dutt Sundaraj (Singapore).
The conference will take place on 18–19 March 2026 at the Wallumattagal Campus of Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia, with Executive Director Rob Houston presenting the paper at the conference. Program Coordinator (Europe) Sarah Mack will join Mr. Houston in representing The Global Pro Bono Bar Association at the conference.
We look forward to the publication of our article following the conference.
